Beef Flavored Chunks TVP


Our “Beef” Flavored Chunks Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) is sold in a 1 lb Bag. Textured Vegetable Protein is a soy product that is high in protein and fiber and low in fat and calories. TVP is soy flour that has been cooked and then dried. TVP is great to use as a meat extender or use as is. It is simple to prepare and absorbs all the flavors of whatever recipe you are cooking. Each one of our TVP products is extremely versatile and can be used in stews, soups, patties and more!

Polynesian “Beef” Veggie Stew RecipeServes 6 people.

  • Please note that our Beef Flavored Chunks are not gluten free.
  • Before cooking, rehydrate the Beef Flavored Chunks.  Take the 1lb bag of Beef Flavored Chunks (dry) and put in a bowl.
    Pour in 1 cup of hot vegetable, beef, or chicken broth. Let TVP sit for about 5 minutes or until all the broth has been absorbed.


  • 3 lb Beef Stew Meat
  • 1 lb Beef Flavored Chunk TVP
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • 3 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 4 garlic gloves, minced
  • 3 large onions, wedged
  • 5 medium potatoes, cut into cubes
  • 3 large carrots, chopped
  • 4 celery stalks, chopped
  • 5 cups beef broth
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1 – 8oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 – 6oz tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp. Aloha Shoyu (Soy Sauce)
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 4 tbsp flour mixed with 1 cup of water
  1. Brown meat and *TVP with salt and pepper and oil in large saucepan / pot over medium heat. *I like to cook the meat first
    and then add the TVP after so it encompasses all the flavors of the meat.
  2. Add the garlic and 1 onion. Cook for 5 minutes
  3. Stir in beef broth, water, tomato sauce, tomato paste, soy sauce, bay leaves, tabasco sauce. Stir well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer for 1 hour until beef and TVP are tender.
  4. Add carrots, celery and remaining 2 onions and cook for 1o minutes.
  5. Add potatoes and cook for another 10 minutes or until tender
  6. Bring back to a boil. Stir in flour-water mixture and stir well until combined. Simmer for 10 minutes.
