Uncolored Slices TVP


Our Uncolored Slices Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) is sold in a 1lb bag.  Textured Vegetable Protein is a soy product that is high in protein and fiber and low in fat and calories. TVP is soy flour that has been cooked and then dried. TVP is great to use as a meat extender or use as is. It is simple to prepare and absorbs all the flavors of whatever recipe you are cooking. Each one of our TVP product is extremely versatile and can be used in stews, soups, patties and more!

Sesame Chicken with Bokchoy and CabbageServes 4

  • Before cooking, rehydrate the Carmel Colored Tidbits.  Take the 1lb bag of Carmel Colored Tidbits (dry) and put in a bowl.
    Pour in 1 cup of hot vegetable, beef, or chicken broth. Let TVP sit for about 5 minutes or until all the broth has been absorbed.
  • * If gluten free, use Tarmari style soy sauce or use alternative.


  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce*
  • 1 tbsp sherry
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp unseasoned rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 3 tbsp canola oil
  • 3/4 lb mushrooms
  • 3/4 skinless chicken
  • 1/4 lb uncolored slices TVP
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3/4 lb Bokchoy
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  1. In a bowl or jar, combine the chicken stock, soy sauce*, sherry, sugar, cornstarch, rice vinegar, sesame oil and red pepper and whisk / shake well.
  2. In a large pan, heat 2 tsp of oil and add mushrooms until tender. Transfer mushrooms from pan.
  3. Add 2 more tsp of oil to the pan. Add the chicken and TVP and cook over high heat until golden about 4 minutes.
  4. Remove from pan.
  5. Add  2 tsp of oil and add bokchoy and red pepper. Cook for 3 minutes.
  6. Add the remaining oil and cook ginger and garlic for 1 minute.
  7. Add back into the skillet the chicken and mushrooms. Pour the sauce you made on top and bring to a boil.
  8. Serve with noodles or rice.
