Our Uncolored Chunks Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) is sold in a 1lb bag.  Textured Vegetable Protein is a soy product that is high in protein and fiber and low in fat and calories. TVP is soy flour that has been cooked and then dried. TVP is great to use as a meat extender or use as is. It is simple to prepare and absorbs all the flavors of whatever recipe you are cooking. Each one of our TVP products is extremely versatile and can be used in stews, soups, patties and more!

Asian “Beef” Veggie Stir FryServes 4 

  • Before cooking, rehydrate the Uncolored Chunks.  Take the 1lb bag of Uncolored Chunks (dry) and put in a bowl.
    Pour in 1 cup of hot vegetable, beef, or chicken broth. Let TVP sit for about 5 minutes or until all the broth has been absorbed.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef top sirloin steak, boneless, cut in strips or chunks
  • 1/3 lb Uncolored Chunks TVP
  • 4 cups assorted veggies (seasonal or frozen)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 large white onion, cut into strips
  • 1/3 cup stir-fry sauce
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 package of noodles
  • 3 stalks scallions, chopped
  • 4 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp unsalted dry-roasted peanuts (optional)
  1. Cut uncooked steak and TVP to pan. Put in veggies and add 3 tbsp of water. Cover and cook on medium high heat for 4 minutes.
  2. Remove and drain.
  3. Cook half the steak and TVP in pan with half the garlic and saute till no longer pink. Set aside.
  4. Do the same with the other half.
  5. Then combine the ingredients together – meat, TVP, and vegetables. Add  stir-fry sauce and red pepper.
  6. Cook noodles according to box instructions and coat in stir-fry sauce.
  7. Serve over noodles with scallions and sesame seeds. Toss in peanuts (optional)
